Shoot with intent
In order to achieve the double exposure effects you see in this film, we shot our front lit couple in front of a black wall which created contrast between them. This allowed us to create a ‘’double exposure’’ effect using the opacity tool in our editing software (this film was edited using Adobe Premiere), resulting in an edgy glamour shot.

Think outside the box
We wanted this film to stand out from every other wedding film you see. We experimented with a lot of different effects and editing techniques to do that. We introduced film grain in all of the shots to give it a cinematic feel. Color burns and flairs made transitions pop. Vintage camera shutter sounds were inserted to simulate a travel back in time. These effects created an engaging and visually appealing film from start to finish.

Non-linear storytelling
Our goal was to tell Johnathon and Sam’s story, but not in the traditional linear fashion. The film starts out with a fast paced highlight of what’s to come and immediately jumps into speeches which set the tone for how awesome this couple is. We then take a trip back to a moment that depicts their first date, where they spent more time stuck in traffic than eating dinner! The film then finishes out the wedding day with subtle clips of moments to come throughout.
